Crawler cranes are equipment of choice in metro projects

Looking at the market during the period April-December 2016, there is a constant increase in the activity whether it is shipment of cranes or order intake. In general, it is a positive trend. Infrastructure is expanding rapidly in the country. Currently, we see demand in the metro projects in Lucknow, Nagpur etc, where crawler cranes are the equipment of choice. Much of the growth is coming from metros and highways.

Kobelco Cranes sales up

Revenues for Kobelco Cranes were up 22 per cent to JPY 39.8 billion ($393 million) in the first nine months (Q1-3) of this fiscal year, compared to JPY 32.7 billion ($323 million) for Q1-3 of fiscal 2012. Ordinary income for the first nine months of the year stood at JPY 2.5 billion ($25 million), compared to a loss of JPY 1.2 billion ($12 million) a year ago. The company said this rise in sales was due to buoyancy in its domestic market and elsewhere in Asia, which offset weakness in Europe.
